Folawale Ariran sent in this short poem on FORGIVENESS. I really loved it, I hope you do too.
“There’s more to you than even you know
Wish I could let you be and just let life flow.
But each minute and each day as we grow,
I realize that not every hurt is worth a blow.
Once I’m awoken and I hear the cock crow,
I give the pain away for the wind to blow,
So my heart be cleared free of sorrow and I maintain that everlasting glow.
Thoughts of how you did me wrong come from time to time,
making my heart heavy and my soul sour as lime,
leaving me wonder why life can’t be rid of theft and crime
To live in a world like that, I’ld give every single dime,
But I guess its left to me to make joy and peace my prime
Simply by letting it all go, ending it with a smile.
Even when you deem it not fit remorse to show
Once I’m awoken and I hear the cock crow,
I’ll give the pain away for the wind to blow
So my heart be cleared free of every sorrow,
and I maintain that everlasting GLOW.”
